As humans, we can recognise different sounds to mean different things. For example, an ambulance or police siren signifies something is wrong and we automatically will react.

However, in the modern world we tend to isolate ourselves from outside noise, listening to music or a podcasts. Being plugged in means there is less chance for you to react in time to potential danger.

Audio Analytic is a company that has created a system using a software base artificial intelligence to identify a wide range of sounds that can then be used as a trigger on your device.

When you are listening to music and a car revs, the trigger will turn down the music or turn it completely off and tell you to look where you are going. To do this they have to capture the sounds live, such as the sound of a dog barking, glass smashing, and babies crying.
